In this little corner of rural Worcestershire, high up overlooking the gentle ooze of the river Avon, near Evesham, Wood Norton was the spectacular location for the marriage of Princess Louise of Orleans (Grandmother to the present King Juan Carlos of Spain) and Prince Charles of Bourbon in 1907.
As The Wood Norton, it is still every inch a regal location, beautiful newly landscaped formal gardens wrap around the terraces – the mature trees framing the view beyond - a true window on Worcestershire.
With the original interiors still in fine fettle, a riot of superb carvings, oak paneling and majestic fireplaces. The total refurbishment in 2012 has added some new textures, techniques and touches to the soft furnishings, with flashes of colour to create an inspired mix of the traditional and contemporary.
There are rooms for every purpose – the complete package is available for all 21st Century Princesses, from the Ceremony, on to the Wedding Breakfast and the celebrations to follow. The Wood Norton has facilities for small intimate celebrations from around ten guests up to about 140 for the wedding breakfast. Our beautiful level lawn on the South Terrace is the perfect spot for a spectacular Marquee!
Superlative British food, nurturing local producers and ingredients cooked with care and passion is what can be expected from the kitchens at The Wood Norton – all delivered with expertise and charm in a choice of ground floor rooms, some with access to the terrace and garden.
This very special day is expertly co-ordinated and managed by a small team you will grow to know and trust, to deliver all the right kind of memories for you to savour.
